In India’s race to emerge as the world’s third-largest economy, technology-driven innovations play a crucial role and must be local, affordable and scalable, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in a great meeting of entrepreneurs and investors in Your historyTechSparks 2022’s flagship startup technology event.
The solution to making India more citizen-centric so that there are better health facilities, education and infrastructure will have to be technology-driven because the next decade is really a “techade”, he said.
“The critical digital infrastructure that is available in India is created with the government and is created to be a public good rather than a cost,” he added.
Sitharaman previously spoke at TechSparks in 2020, where he emphasized the need for an open dialogue between the government and the people of India.
