Trinamix said that its facial authentication technology has been optimized for the new Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processors.

Speaking at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit 2022 event in Maui (oh, we wish we were there), Trinamix demoed the technology embedded in a Qualcomm smartphone reference design.

Trinamix, based in Ludwigshafen, Germany, is trying to establish a gold standard for biometric authentication on Android devices. It has security certified by FIDO Alliance, Android Biometric Security and IIFAA for mobile payments. It also features a highly secure authentication solution that operates within Qualcomm’s trusted execution environment.

Trinamix demonstrated facial authentication behind OLED running on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 reference design, a processor platform that could be used in a variety of devices.

The optimized solution runs completely invisibly behind the device’s OLED screen, while setting the highest settings
biometric security standards for future smartphones. The solution combines easy and fast unlocking with
maximum data protection and also enables a full screen viewing experience for users.

collection and processing of user biometric data.

“Providing the highest data security is in the interest of the entire mobile ecosystem,” said Asaf Shen, senior
director of product management at Qualcomm. “At Qualcomm Technologies, we have
made data security an integral part of our mobile platform, making our work with Trinamix essential. The certified security of trinamiX Face Authentication perfectly complements our technology.”
Trinamix Face Authentication was certified in accordance with International Internet Finance Authentication
Alliance (IIFAA), FIDO Alliance and Android in 2021.

It is approved for use in mobile payment applications and on Android devices, setting the new gold standard for biometric authentication on Android phones.

The potential of the authentication solution is based on the design and algorithms of the underlying system,
which were developed and patented by Trinamix. The algorithms perform a life check based on
in the detection of human skin, adding a novel security feature to the recognition and detection of ordinary users.

By running all software components on Qualcomm TEE, biometric data collected during the
authentication process is protected against access by third parties, as well as any manipulation during the
authentication process.

Trinamix Face Authentication adds a new life verification to biometric authentication processes on smartphones: skin detection. It can reliably prevent even advanced phishing attacks (eg, using a realistic facial replica).

Trinamix is now showing its fully integrated solution.

“We are very excited to be a part of Snapdragon Summit 2022, an event that paves the way for the future of mobile technologies,” said Wilfried Hermes, director of consumer electronics at Trinamix.

During the event, the company demonstrated smartphones that better protect user privacy without compromising comfort and design.

“In recent years, our smartphones have become our wallets and the protectors of our most valuable memories,” Hermes said. “It is time for protective measures to take the next steps as well, by combining the latest innovations from Trinamix and Qualcomm Technologies, we are now
enhancing the protection that all smartphone users deserve.”

Throughout the development process, Trinamix placed as much emphasis on safety as on ease of use. Weather
Full screens are a big problem for previous generation facial authentication solutions, Trinamix has solved this challenge and managed to achieve the highest possible security certifications with the required hardware mounted invisibly behind the screen.

“By integrating trinamiX facial authentication, smartphone manufacturers can finally unlock a new screen
design possibilities without drilling or notching,” said Ingmar Bruder, CEO of Trinamix, in a statement.
“Future smartphones will not only fully protect your data, but also give users the convenience of
facial authentication with a seamless viewing experience.”

The company employs more than 200 people worldwide and holds more than 370 patents and patent applications.
